On the eve of D-Day, General Dwight D. Eisenhower visits paratroopers of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne. These jumpers are just minutes away from loading into their C-47's for the flight to Normandy. Ike paid a visit to the parachute troops to show his support. Some invasion planners were predicting losses as high as 75% among the paratroopers, and the thought of this deeply troubled Gen. Eisenhower.
