U.S. Army Air Force Insignia Shadowbox
The insignia worn on the uniforms of AAF servicemen make for a colorful and interesting display. Each Army Air Force has an interesting history, with the 8th AAF probably the most well-known. Among the others, the 12th served in North Africa and the Mediterranean, the 15th in the Mediterranean, the 5th and the 13th in the Pacific Theater. For a brief history of each Army Air Force, go to www.vetshome.com/military_army_air_forces_patches1.htm.
The Army Air Force Shadowbox measures 7 ½" x 9 ½", and features an authentic reproduction shoulder patch, crewman wings, and lapel insignia. The items are mounted on a dark-blue suede board. An olive drab top mat marks the face of the shadow display.
