Shortly after D-Day, three
Screaming Eagles from the 101st Airborne Division pause to have
their photograph taken in a town square somewhere in Normandy. Upon extreme magnification, the 101st
shoulder patch is visible on the uniform of the paratrooper in the middle.

Of
interest are the different weapons carried by the three jumpers: the GI on the
left carries a Thompson submachine gun; the middle GI carries a carbine; the GI
on the right has the M1 Garand, with bayonet mounted.
