Doolittle Raider Launches from USS Hornet. Black and white photograph of one of Lt. Colonel Jimmy Doolittle's B-25 Mitchell bombers taking off from the carrier on April 18, 1942. Just five months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the raid on Tokyo came at a time when U.S morale needed a lift.
The artwork also features an authentic reproduction Doolittle Raiders jacket patch, an aerial gunner's wing, and original vintage Remember Pearl Harbor and V For Victory pins. The finished piece measures 12 3/4" x 25 1/2". It is matted in light green, with a lower dark olive green mat upon which the jacket patch and pins are mounted. The frame is black metal (other colors are available. Contact us for info). Please see the "Frame Info" tab for complete information on how we frame our artwork. Item price includes ground shipping to the continental U.S.
