Douglas SBD & Ground Crew
The Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber was one of the great carrier aircraft of World War Two. Powered by the dependable Wright R-2800 radial engine, the SBD was employed as both a scout and a dive bomber. Bomb payload was over 2000 lbs. The bomb was mounted under the fuselage on a special hinged mount that, upon release, would swing the bomb away from the aircraft's propeller.
