P-51 Mustangs In Flight
The fighter aircraft that many consider to be the finest of World War Two, the North American P-51 Mustang was brought about by the successful melding of the finest American airframe design and the superlative British Rolls-Royce Merlin V-12 engine. The result was a fighter plane that dominated every other piston-powered aircraft it met in combat. At left is an early model P-51-2, armed with four 20mm cannons. It is one of 150 built. At right are three P-51D's and a P-51B of the 361st Fighter Group of the 65th Fighter Wing, 8th USAAF. Based in Bottisham, England, Nov. 1943 to Sep. 1944.
The finished piece measures 12 3/4" x 25 1/2". It is matted in blue-gray. The frame is Gunmetal (other colors are available. Contact us for info). Please see the "Frame Info" tab for complete information on how we frame our artwork. Item price includes ground shipping to the continental U.S.
