B-17 Pistol Packin' Mama Crew

Just as many crews would paint nose art on their assigned aircraft, so did some Army Air Force members also decorate their leather flight jackets. Pictured are three crew members of the B-17 "Pistol Packin' Mama". The jackets are adorned with their B-17, bombs representing each mission flown, and swastikas notating Luftwaffe aircraft shot down.

The "Pistol Packin' Mama" was a member of the 390th Bomb Group, 13th Combat Wing, Third Air Division, 8th USAAF, based in Framlingham, England. This photograph was taken on January 10, 1944. Picture Credit: USAF.

The finished piece measures 17" x 14". The photograph is matted in medium olive green.  The frame is solid Cherry wood (other colors are available. Contact us for info). Please see the "Frame Info" tab for complete information on how we frame our artwork. Item price includes ground shipping to the continental U.S.
