S/Sgt Ross, United States Army Air Force, 1942
This framed piece of history was inspired by the photograph you see pictured. Simply labeled "Ross, 1942" on the back of the photograph, it was "rescued" from a flea market. Framing History believes this photograph of an American Airman deserves more respect than that provided by an anonymous, dusty shelf.
The photograph of S/Sgt Ross is framed with two U.S. Army Air Force patches, one being the general USAAF patch (as seen on his uniform), the other the 13th USAAF, also known as "The Jungle Air Force". The 13th operated in the Pacific Theater. Included on the mat are: Uniform insignia for an enlisted AAF member ("U.S." on disk and Propeller with Wings on disk); Aerial Gunner's Wing; Bronze Star for Valor; Purple Heart; World War II Victory Medal. All insignia and patches are authentic WWII reproductions (certain items can be found that are original WWII issue. Please contact us if you would like a quote for such items). The photograph is an archival copy of the original.
The finished piece measures 17" x 14". The photograph is matted in mottled blue. The medals, patches and insignia are mounted on the mat board. The frame is solid Cherry wood (other colors are available. Contact us for info). Please see the "Frame Info" tab for complete information on how we frame our artwork. Item price includes ground shipping to the continental U.S.
