Unused V-Mail letters. V-Mail was brought about by the need to reduce the bulk of mail being sent between the Homefront and troops deployed overseas. Letters were written on the V-Mail form, then the form was microfilmed. The microfilm was much lighter and less bulky than mail. The film was transported to a printing lab where the letters were printed out, then delivered to the receiving party.
